Office Profile

In February 2003, Sheppard Mullin brought its strong and diverse foundation to Washington, D.C., opening what is now a 37-lawyer office in the heart of downtown. The Washington office focuses on government contracts, white collar crime, commercial litigation, intellectual property, tax, corporate, labor and employment, and various regulatory practices such as FCC and FDA. The office has grown into a vibrant part of the firm. Sheppard Mullin continues to devote substantial resources to identifying and cultivating creative, problem-solving attorneys and entrepreneurial individuals who are interested in building an office. This approach applies to every lawyer from the junior-most associate to the senior-most partner.

Perhaps most important, the firm is a welcoming place to make a career. For example, each summer associate in the Washington office is assigned a mentor, a mid-level associate who knows the ropes and will help maximize the summer associate's experience. From the moment you walk through the door, you find people welcoming you and excited to introduce you to the firm, its people, and the practice of law. Our mentors make sure you are aware of any court hearings or meetings that would be of interest. In the past, summer associates have enjoyed private tours of the U.S. Capitol and Supreme Court.
