The San Diego/Downtown office of Sheppard Mullin was named a "Best Places to Work" by the San Diego Business Journal in 2011, 2010, and 2009.
The downtown San Diego office opened in 1986 and quickly became a significant force in the legal community. The firm's Chairman of the Executive Committee is resident in this office (when he's not traveling). In late 2001, the firm expanded its presence in San Diego County and opened a second office in Del Mar Heights, in the heart of the county's high technology corridor. Our attorneys in these offices advise clients on matters involving litigation, labor and employment, banking and finance, real estate, intellectual property, technology and corporate and securities law.
Our client base is diverse, ranging from global financial institutions and mature publicly traded corporations to start-ups. Our clients include some of San Diego's most established businesses, prominent companies in the emerging technology, life sciences and communications industries, and national and international companies.
The firm's practice groups are divided between the two offices based on considerations that focus on client needs. Currently, approximately 30 attorneys practice in the downtown office and approximately 45 attorneys practice in Del Mar Heights. Together, the two offices offer San Diego County clients a full range of legal services and are among the fastest growing offices in San Diego.
Reflecting of the firm's national reputation, both offices have a strong team of trial lawyers involved in a wide range of matters, including many high-profile cases. The San Diego offices also include a strong and rapidly growing corporate practice. We frequently advise clients on complex mergers and acquisitions, private and public financing transactions, executive compensation and SEC compliance matters. The labor and employment attorneys in San Diego are a key part of the firm's nationally recognized Labor and Employment practice. San Diego also boasts a rapidly growing litigation and transactional intellectual property practice which focuses on the technology, life sciences, and communications industries located in our "backyard" and elsewhere in the state. Finally, the San Diego offices include highly respected attorneys in the areas of real estate, land use, white collar crime, and First Amendment and media issues.
